Geek Gaurab

I am a computer guy. My interests are varied and currently I am deeply into networking, TCP/IP, routers, switches etc. My area of expertise is Unix/Linux, Windows NT as well as Novell NetWare servers. My strong point is in TCP/IP services.

I have designed a few big networks and more small ones. I have played around with sub netting and routing even in small networks for security and access.

My real interest is in Operating systems. I find real time OSes like chorus and QNX fascinating and am trying to learn more on them. Cisco IOS is also good. But Linux rocks.

Although, I am not heavily into programming, I have programmed in Pascal, C, and SQL. Perl is THE scripting language for me. I am trying to do PHP, but haven't had time to seriously look into it.

One of my real interest is in multilingual computing, i.e., be able to use Nepali language in Computers. I am keenly following development in the Unicode standards vis-à-vis Devnagari, and am trying out things developed by Nepalis.

As a Geek, I frequent Slashdot, Freshmeat, and Techweb as well. More links are here.

Send me an e-mail, if  you want to know more.
